Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City, the dynamic heart of Southern Vietnam where centuries-old traditions meet modern urban energy. Upon arrival, you will be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel to settle in before beginning your cultural journey.

Your tour begins at Masjid Musulman, one of the most prominent mosques in the city and a spiritual center for the Muslim community. This peaceful oasis in the heart of the city invites quiet reflection, offering an early glimpse into the religious diversity of Vietnam.

You will also pass by Lamson Mosque, another beautifully maintained mosque that represents the Islamic heritage within this bustling metropolis.

Day 1 Admire The Graceful Beauty Of Notre Dame Cathedral, Inspired By French Colonial Architecture

We then head to some of Ho Chi Minh City’s most iconic colonial-era landmarks. The Notre Dame Cathedral, built entirely from materials imported from France, captivates visitors with its red brick facade and twin bell towers soaring into the sky.

Just a short walk away, the Central Post Office, designed by Gustave Eiffel, showcases grand vaulted ceilings and ornate ironwork – a stunning blend of French architectural elegance and local flair.

Continue the journey at the striking People’s Committee Hall, an architectural gem from the French colonial period. While the building is not open to the public, its exterior offers a perfect backdrop for photos, especially as golden light reflects off its cream-colored walls and ornate detailing.

The next stop brings you to Chinatown (Cholon), the city’s vibrant Chinese quarter alive with bustling markets, incense-filled temples, and a rich blend of Chinese-Vietnamese culture. Wander through its maze of shops and heritage shophouses, where tradition lives on in every corner.

Day 1 Wander Through Ben Thanh Market A Bustling Maze Of Local Flavors, Souvenirs, And Daily Life In Saigon

End your day at the iconic Ben Thanh Market, a must-visit destination for both shopping and cultural discovery. Here, you can practice your bargaining skills while browsing endless stalls of souvenirs, textiles, and local products. As evening falls, enjoy a flavorful Halal dinner at a local Muslim-friendly restaurant, where Vietnamese cuisine is thoughtfully prepared to meet your dietary needs.

Upon arrival at the Cu Chi Tunnels, you’ll step back in time into one of the most iconic remnants of the Vietnam War. This vast network of underground tunnels once served as hidden living quarters, supply routes, and guerrilla strongholds for Vietnamese soldiers. The visit begins with a short documentary that vividly illustrates the harsh realities and strategic brilliance behind the tunnels’ construction and use.

Day 2 Crawl Through The Narrow Passageways Of Cu Chi Tunnels

Arriving in the charming riverside town of My Tho, you’ll embark on an unforgettable three-hour boating and walking excursion through the legendary Mekong Delta. This lush, water-laced region – often called the “rice bowl” of Vietnam – is a vibrant tapestry of winding rivers, verdant orchards, and local communities living in harmony with the water.

Glide gently down narrow canals aboard a traditional rowing sampan, where palm trees arch gracefully overhead and the quiet splash of oars replaces city sounds. Your boat journey brings you to a tropical island dotted with fruit-laden trees, where you can stroll through leafy orchards and sample fresh local fruits picked straight from the source.

Next, watch the age-old process of making coconut candy, a sweet treat that’s as iconic as it is delicious. Savor the freshly made candies as you observe the delicate craftsmanship that goes into every bite.

Then hop aboard a tuk tuk for a breezy ride through the island’s backroads, where everyday scenes of local life unfold – children biking to school, farmers tending crops, and elders relaxing in hammocks. Along the way, sip on warm honey tea and snack on seasonal fruits, enjoying the Delta’s warm hospitality and distinct flavors.

After a flavorful lunch at a riverside restaurant, continue to the striking Vinh Trang Pagoda, a serene sanctuary blending Vietnamese, Khmer, and European architectural styles. Wander among manicured gardens, gaze up at towering Buddha statues, and admire the intricate tile work that tells spiritual stories centuries in the making.
